Lafferty Endorsed by Teachers, First Responders, Environmental
and Women’s Rights Groups
Towson MD – Delegate Steve Lafferty (D-42nd District) today announced that he has been endorsed by the Teachers Association of Baltimore County (TABCO), the Maryland State Education Association (MSEA), the Baltimore County Professional Firefighters Association (Local 1311), NARAL Pro-Choice America, and the Maryland League of Conservation Voters (MDLCV).
Delegate Lafferty is the first and only candidate for the House of Delegates in the 42nd District to be endorsed by all five groups representing educators, first responders, environmentalists, and women’s rights activists.
“I am proud to have the distinction at this important juncture in the race for the Maryland General Assembly of being endorsed by these key groups,” Lafferty said. “They know that I support the issues that matter most to them, our community, and our state. I am very pleased that they have chosen me as their candidate who will continue to advocate for them, support their mission, and work hard to advance their goals.”
TABCO, an organization that represents over 6,000 teachers in the Baltimore County Public Schools, in their endorsement stated, “Delegate Lafferty has the knowledge and vision to help us protect and enhance our great school system, and to ensure that the voices of teachers are heard.” The state educational organization, MSEA, also has given him its backing.

Two other organizations that also have recently endorsed Lafferty are NARAL, the nation's leading advocate for privacy and a woman's right to choose, and the Maryland League of Conservation Voters, which is the most important voice in the state on environmental issues. The MDLCV, through its endorsement, congratulated and thanked Delegate Lafferty for all of his “hard work and dedication in fighting to protect and preserve the environment.”
Delegate Lafferty is running for re-election to the Maryland House of Delegates.
