Steve's News From Annapolis

The Maryland General Assembly went into Session at noon on January 11. It is always humbling, and exciting, to return to Annapolis. Once again, the House and Senate will have a very full agenda of issues that impact all Marylanders.

We know that job creation, the State budget, school funding and construction, marriage equality, wind energy, a possible gas tax and redistricting will be among the difficult issues we will be addressing.  My committee, Environmental Matters, will grapple with efforts to protect the Bay, protecting open space, sprawl development on septic systems, lead paint poisoning prevention, foreclosures, the “flush tax” and much more.

It is an honor to represent those who live and work in the 42nd District. As the Session begins, I welcome your opinions and thoughts on these and any other issues that are important to you. You can contact me at , by phone at 410-841-3487 or by mail to 306 House Office Building, Annapolis, MD 21401.

Best wishes to you and your family in 2012.
